26 week Bump Date

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along:
26 weeks and 3 days!
Size of baby:
According to The Bump, Baby GIRL is the size of a head of lettuce! Oh my little Lechuga. (That is Spanish for lettuce for all you non-Spanish speakers.)
Maternity Clothes:
Same as beforeall pants maternity, trying to see what dresses still fitthey are getting shorter and shorter it seems. I went through another round of my clothes and packed up some more to continue to get ready for this little girl. At the rate I am going, she is going to have more clothes than me. And for those of you that know me and my closetTHAT is hard to beat
Gender:
It’s a GIRL! See previous post about Gender Reveal. Squee!
Movement:
More and more every day! When we were watching the Superbowl game (SIDE NOTE: Did you see my Seattle team kick some serious.. Donkey, err Horses ass?) but anyway during the game she was kicking up a storm and I was actually watching my sweater move..it was the weirdest thing! She loves the Hawks already! Good thing, because Mama Carolyn has already bought her a Seahawks hat and slippers for next football season.
Sleep:
About the same as before, some nights are better than others. Last night I seriously slept like a rock! I dont know if that is a good thing or a bad thingbecause I didnt even get up to go pee! Maybe that means I should have drank more water..but for now..I feel well rested! Woot.

What I miss:
The same things as before. Winemostly. Not like im a HUGE wine-o normallybut I love getting to be able to stop by a wine tasting on a lazy Saturday, have a plate of cheese and grapes with my man and a nice glass of Pinot.Soon. I will Soon.
Cravings:
Orange juice! Oh my goodness, anytime I have it, it is like heaven in a glass! I cant describe to you how amazing it is. Haha, I am not a huge O.J. drinker normally, but for some reasonthis baby LOVES it.
Symptoms:
Just the little sea monkey kicking me every which way, and the last few days she has been up under my ribs. Umm thanks baby, but can you please remove your toes from mamas rib cage? And my back still..but that is not AS bad as it was before.

Favorite Moment This Week:
For Timothy’s birthday (more on that later) We went out on a boat with the girls and went crabbing and fishing. Even though the trip wasnt SUPER successful (read: 2 Dungeness Crabs), it was so fun to be on the boat with the girls, and Shammy was SO cute with the traps and crabs. She came to realize that the little orange floaty things in the water meant that dad was going to bring up a trap soon, and she would start to scout them out. She was so intrigued by these little sea spiders and she wanted nothing more than for us to keep one for her as a pet. SorrySoooley, not right now. Mildred Jean was cold and so she stayed bundled upbut I will post pics of that later. Also had our 26 week appointment, and we have to start coming in every two weeks, which just seems surreal!! I cantbelieve we are getting down to the wire here..i mean I know I have like 3 months to go, but it just feels like im in the home stretch.

Worst Moment This Week:
Not a whole lot. I mean my back pain of course, and she keeps kicking my ribsand that does not feel so nice.

23 Week Bump-Date

January 2, 2014

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along:
As of January 9, I was 23 weeks!

Size of baby:
According to The Bump, Baby
GIRL is the size of a Mango!

Maternity Clothes:
Same as before…all pants maternity, trying to see what dresses still fit…they are getting shorter and shorter it seems

Gender:
It’s a
GIRL! See previous post about Gender Reveal. Squee!

Movement:
All.The.Freakin.Time. She is a gymnast I feel. Watch out Shawn Johnson. Or maybe a dancer, I pray that she does not get her dance moves from her father or I.

Sleep:
Same as before…Pretty good, some nights are better than others. Some nights, I get up to use the restroom about 3-4 times or so. Sorry babe. And of course I am tossing and turning because my back is hurting. As soon as I lie down it really starts to ache. Not the best feeling in the world. But other than that good

What I miss:
I miss lying on my stomach, and getting to jump on trampolines….like I did it so much before? Where the hell does that even come from?? But if I saw a trampoline, you best be know my heart would ache to jump on it. And I miss over easy eggs still. I miss those…A lot.

Cravings:
Mashed potatoes and cinnamon rolls still. Oh I could eat those for days, but I’m trying to be good and stick to my low carb thang. It is definitely harder than one would assume.

Symptoms:
Same as before... Baby girl is on the move, so I am feeling her more and more each day! Also, my breakin’ back and I am seriously hungry ALL.THE.TIME.

Favorite Moment This Week:

We painted her room!! I am not a HUGE fan of baby pink… (Bleh..actually gag). I knew that I didn’t want her room to be a pink explosion…and I am a HUGE Alice in Wonderland fan. So we decided to paint her room Aqua blue, Black and White. The goal is to have Aqua blue walls and Black furniture with hints of Alice in a few spots. Not character overload, just subtle hints. Tim painted the room this past weekend and we hung up the curtains. Next thing will be to just over the next few months, get the crib set up, and add bits and pieces to her room. I absolutely adore the color, it is called “Cool Jazz” by Behr. Walking by and seeing it all start to come together is such an amazing feeling and I can’t believe that she will be in there soon enough!

Worst Moment This Week:
I had a meltdown before bed a few nights ago, because my back was killing me. I am over this back pain and can’t wait to feel better.

22 Week Bump-Date

I do have a picture...but since my computer is a piece o' poo I will add at a later date...

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along:
As of January 2, I was 22 weeks!
Size of baby:
According to The Bump, Baby
GIRL is the size of a Papaya!
Maternity Clothes:
Same as before…all pants maternity, trying to see what dresses still fit…they are getting shorter and shorter it seems

Gender:
It’s a
GIRL! See previous post about Gender Reveal. Squee!
Movement:
YES! Not a ton yet, but at our appointment this morning the doctor asked us if we had felt much movement. I told her no that she was just kicking back and being lazy bones. The doctor was like that is fine, you probably just aren’t feeling her yet, but what we will do is leave the Doppler on your belly for a bit, and sometimes that is enough to get them going. Sure enough, not even like 2 minutes later, she put the Doppler on and she kicked it super hard. Making a liar out of me already… and then of course all day has been kicking and rolling around in there. Now the little thing won’t stop!
Sleep:
Pretty good, some nights are better than others. Some nights, I get up to use the restroom about 3-4 times or so. Sorry babe. And of course I am tossing and turning because my back is hurting. As soon as I lie down it really starts to ache. Not the best feeling in the world. But other than that good

What I miss:
I miss lying on my stomach, and over easy eggs…and this week especially I was really craving some ham sandwiches (Again with the Ham??? REALLY?!?) and some champagne. Nom Nom Nom.
Cravings:
Nothing super strong this week, I almost had a meltdown when I went to the doctor and saw how much weight I seem to be gaining. They haven’t mentioned that it has been excessive or anything, which is good, but it still stresses me out. She mentioned that we should schedule our glucose test in the next few weeks. I voiced my concerns over this because y’all know how I am with needles. She suggested switching to a low carb diet in the weeks leading up to the test, because that can lower your “risk” of the gestational diabetes. Or something like that… So I figured it couldn’t hurt, and will start eating lower carbs than I have been. Right now it seems as though we are besties, but I will probably have to cool my jets for a bit.
Symptoms:
Well now baby girl is on the move, so I am feeling her more and more each day! Also, my breakin’ back and I am seriously hungry ALL.THE.TIME.

Favorite Moment This Week:

We normally don’t do much for New Years Eve, and were going to continue with that trend this year. However, after much thinking we decided that considering this is our “last” New Years without the baby we should probably do something. His parents had offered up their timeshare on the coast for a night and had originally declined because we couldn’t take our Chugs and had nowhere to take them on such short notice. After much consideration, we figured that if we take them out late at night on the 31st, and come home early on the 1st, it wouldn’t be any different than going out for a night on the town! So on New Years Eve, we packed up our bags, went to an amazing sushi dinner and headed out to Depoe Bay, Oregon. Once we got there, we decided to head to the casino, after all it was New years Eve! We won about $140.00 in the first hour or so, but then of course lost it all later on in the eve. It was so packed, but so much fun to be able to spend time and ring in the New Year with my babe. After the casino we came home and since Depoe Bay is such a sleepy town, literally we were so hungry but no place was open. We found a can of soup that his parents had left at the time share and ate that at about 3am. The next morning we explored the coast a bit, had some breakfast and then went home to our girls. It was such an amazing New Years Eve. 2013 was filled with so many ups and downs for me, and I am in such a different place than I was a year ago. It feels great. 2013 was a learning curve, and I learned so much about myself and what I need and want to be happy. I knew that I couldn’t continue to live in the way that I was living and I have learned that I need to do what I want to make myself happy. I was tired of putting someone else first and putting their needs before my own. I matter too, and I shouldn’t have to follow someone else’s dream because it is “expected”. I love the place that Tim and I are at, and I didn’t know I could be so happy with someone, other than myself. (If that makes sense). He truly brings me so much happiness and I feel like a weight has been lifted, that has been burdening me for so long. Here is to 2014, so much love and happiness to come.

Worst Moment This Week:
Probably just my back….UH.Gain.

21 Week Bump-Date

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along:
As of December 26th, I was 21 weeks!!

Size of baby:
According to The Bump, Baby
GIRL is the size of a Pomegranate!

Maternity Clothes:
Of course a little of this and that, pretty much the same, maternity pants and sometimes maternity tops…but I can mostly wear my old clothes…even though they are getting a wee bit tight!

Gender:
It’s a
GIRL! I guess everyone was right all along! We are so excited and can’t wait to meet this little princess!

Movement:
I am pretty sure she is lazy…or just small. I still haven’t felt much…a few things here and there. I know that she is kicking and at our appointment that little girl had her legs outstretched like she was just hanging out.

Sleep:
Pretty good so far, I had a rough night last night where my back was hurting and I could not get comfortable for the life of me! But we got a memory foam mattress cover from Tim’s parents for Christmas so that has definitely been helping!

What I miss:
I miss wine…and I bought Tim a case of hard apple cider for Christmas so that has been tempting for sure. It smells so good and crisp when he breaks one of those open. Also, over easy eggs and I am missing champagne…especially tonight on New Years Eve…boohoo

Cravings:
Cinnamon Rolls! I had to have one the other day and even though my back felt like it had been Karate chopped in half I crawled my way to the nearest bakery and indulged. So what If I also had a Raspberry Streudel.

Symptoms:
Just my achy breaky back…also my stomach will clench up sometimes…and feels like what I can only assume a contraction feels like. It is my body just adjusting to the basketball that just so happens to be attached to my belly…but it leaves me breathless sometimes

Favorite Moment This Week:

This past week we got to enjoy our gifts that we got at Christmas, (More on that later). Also, looking around at baby things and just knowing that we can buy little GIRL things is so exciting! We will probably do a name reveal later, we have a name…and Im sure some of you know it already…but we won’t announce officially until a later date. Also, getting to feel all of our families excitement at Christmas was so heart-warming and wonderful.

Worst Moment This Week:
My back…I feel like a broken record when I say this…

Its a....

GIRL!!!

I know most of you already know this by now, but on December 20, 2013, we found out that we are having a little girl! Name to be announced at a later date..

We had our appointment at 11 am, and they told me to come with a full bladder. So I downed what im sure was equivalent to a small ocean of water before we went in, and then they told me that I had to hold it. Umm Im sorry, this is hard for me anyway, not to mention when im 20 weeks pregnant. I asked the lady if I could go to the bathroom as soon as I got there..and she goes “Umm sure..I guess, just try to go a little bit, and then stop it mid flow so your bladder does not empty”. Ugh, okay cool. So I go in…barely make it to the toilet and my bladder just unloads…do you think that I could stop a geyser of water mid flow? No. I tried to stop it, I did…but It just would not stop. I figured it would be fine…so I went to sit back down…and I wish I was kidding…but as soon as I sat down I had to pee again. UGH. This time I held it, I didn’t want to press my luck with not having a full bladder at my appointment. They called us in soon after and got right to work with the ultrasound, checking for this and that and making sure that the little bean was healthy and functioning properly. The first thing she says to me when she takes a peek inside my internal organs..."Wow, you really do have a full bladder.." Ya think? Im an overachiever..I did not disappoint...

The little feet that I will probably munch on later...

We told them that we wanted them to seal the gender in an envelope so we could open it on our Christmas, which was going to be the next morning. We wanted it to be special instead of just being told at our appointment. How we both managed to not look at the screen when they were in that general area is beyond me.

I loved being able to see her move and play with her fingers, and stretch and play with her feetsies. She sucked her thumb and was just moving all over the place. It was so cool to be able to see this little girl just alive and well. They even did a 3D ultrasound, which of course they all look kind of weird in those. We werent’ able to catch a glimpse of her face in that one because the sweet little princess had her hands in front of her face. Im imagining she was saying, “No pictures please, I don’t have my makeup on yet”. So exciting.

"Im not ready for my close up...."

Afterwards, we both had to go to work, which was tough because we just wanted to open the envelope right then and there. Tim hid the envelope from me, because I think we both knew that I probably would have snuck a peek. When we got home from work we were going to go to dinner and go see the movie Frozen, but honestly…could not wait any longer. We were thinking that we didn’t want to rush through Christmas just to get to the envelope that would tell us our child-to-be’s gender. So we made the joint decision to open it before our date night. It was such a sweet moment for us to find out who was going to be joining our little family first. I am so excited to start this journey with the man of my dreams and can’t wait to add this little princess to our growing family!

18 week Bump-date

December 10, 2013

Pregnancy Highlights

 Seriously slacking on photos...

How Far Along:
18 weeks and a few days

Size of baby:
According to The Bump, Baby O is the size of a sweet potato!

Maternity Clothes:
Yes and no! I am definitely sporting  around those sexy maternity pants and jeans with that hot little panel in them (Thanks Mum!), and of course dresses and some leggings, but my tops are pretty much my own, whichever fits!

Gender:
I had a dream last night that it was a girl, and everyone is telling me it is a girl, so that is what I am thinking!
Our appointment is on the 20th, and we just discussed last night that we will have them seal it in an envelope, and we will open it on our Christmas (The 21st)! Squee! Don’t worry y’all, I will let you know when we find out!

Movement:
Nothing yet…and apparently some mamas don’t feel anything until after 20 weeks…I am getting impatient even though I know that pretty soon I will just be royally annoyed when it is keeping me up at night!

Sleep:
Sleep is pretty good still. We got this new Sherpa comforter that is so soft and to die for, so that definitely makes it difficult to get out of bed in the morning!

What I miss:
Still miss wine. I indulged in some coffee a few days ago when I was doing my Christmas shopping (Christmas shopping would not be complete without a Gingerbread Latte”. I miss over easy eggs…I love triple LOVE breakfast sandwiches in the mornings and an over easy egg would just be the cherry on top, but I will refrain for now!

Cravings:
Nothing so much recently. The other day I was looking through the Pampered Chef catalog and there was a little picture with Deviled eggs in it. I don’t know why, but I had a really strong craving to have one at that moment in time, and I didn’t. Now that Im talking about it however…hmmmmm

Symptoms:
Still back aches and the tummy burning when I eat. Nothing else though, still drenching myself in cocoa butter every morning to hopefully avoid the road map effect of Stretch marks!

Favorite Moment This Week:

I was so beyond excited to finish my Christmas shopping. Starting to fall more in love with the names that we have picked out (boy OR girl), and just getting more and more excited to see our little babe on the screen for our 20 week ultrasound! Also…in other not so baby news..WE FINALLY GOT SNOW! More on that later….no really…More on that later!

Worst Moment This Week:
My back has been feeling a little better…but nothing too bad this week!

17 Week Bump-date

November 30, 2013

I didn't take one this week...so this is what y'all get. Sorry Loves!
My loves Kristine and Coro on our way to Leavenworth, definitely compliments to the snowboarder who put his trip on pause to take a few snaps of us

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along:
17 weeks!

Size of baby:
According to The Bump, Baby O is the size of an Onion!

Maternity Clothes:
Clothes are my friend again! My mum took me out shopping and I got some new maternity clothes! My tops and everything were still fitting, but my pants, and jeans and skirts were seriously making me feel like I was a Vienna Sausage. Not so good when you have to work and do things other than lay on the couch. So I feel SO much better. Thanks Mum!

Gender:
I feel like it is a girl now, I go back and forth…Ugh…Less than a month until we find out!

Movement:
Nothing yet!

Sleep:
Sleeping pretty good still, bed is so cozy and warm in the mornings it makes it really difficult to get up! Back still hurts, which I know is super early for me to be complaining about back pain!

What I miss:
I miss wine so much L We had this amazing Thanksgiving dinner and a Merlot would have tasted heavenly with it. I did sneak a few sips of Tim’s wine…but mostly I stuck to Sparkling Cider. I can’t wait until I can have my wine and cheese pairings again!

Cravings:
I got some ham! Finally! It wasn’t the Ham sandwich that I have been craving, but Tim went out and bought me my own little ham. Bless his little heart. Thanksgiving dinner pretty much satisfied all my cravings.

Symptoms:
My stomach has been burning after I eat. It feels like whatever I just ate is trying to burn a hole into the side of my stomach. Apparently that is normal. Lovely. Also the back pain hasn’t really gotten much better, some days are better than others.

Favorite Moment This Week:

Going home to visit my family for Thanksgiving. It was so wonderful to see my mum and dad and get to spend some extra time with them. Also, I have more of a bump! Hooray! Also, going shopping with mum and getting some new clothes that actually fit is so wonderful!

Worst Moment This Week:
My back hurts…still so bad..
