So last year for my birthday, Papa Amos gave me an ice cream maker! Since my birthday is at the end of summer, I hadn't gotten to really use it. So this summer, I have been making ice cream like a banshee. I have tried numerous flavors such as; strawberry, vanilla, strawberry rhubarb, chocolate amaretto, chocolate, cookies and cream, mint oreo, and numerous others. Since right now I am living by myself, this means LOADS and LOADS of ice cream! I would bring it to work, but we dont' really have a conveneient freezer in order to do so. So anyway, I wanted to invite some people over for ice cream and board games. I have been talking about it for awhile, and on July 9th, Nishy and I on a whim decided that the next day we should have an ice cream and board game night. I sent out an email, and just hoped for the best. .Didn't expect many people to show up because it was so spontaneous! Well this day, also I had originally been wanting to go to Country Fair, which is this HUGE hippie festival in Veneta, Oregon. I have been wanting to go ever since I have heard about it, a year ago, but didn't know in time last year, and this year, I found out that it is kind of pricey, and since I am going to Disneyland ( OhHH yeah! MOre on that later)! :) I had to forego the trip again this year...BOOO..maybe next year!
Anyways, so I had tons of ice cream, and just wanted people to come over and help me eat it all! So I invted some people that I work with, as well as my loo, and then I invited Anna who used to work at the credit union, but does not anymore. The day of my party, the 9th, I went to the dollar store in the beginning of the day, and just bought some cheap ice cream bowls, as well as a cheap table cloth, and all sorts of just decoration type things. Then I went to the store and bought a few more ingredients to make another form of ice cream. At this point, I already had, Vanilla, Strawberry, and I was going to make chocolate amaretto. So after I collected all my items, I went home to make the ice cream. Well the chocolate amaretto ice cream took SOO much longer then I had anticipated. Damn my luck :( So I had to just forego that one, and just have the vanilla and the strawberry.
Nishy showed up first, then Anna, and then Jesse, a few others were going to make it, but ended up not being able to at the last minute. That is okay, it was so much fun with them, and I am so happy that they came! I set up a topping bar, for the ice creams, complete with cones and little candies that they could dish up for their ice creams. I have SOO many toppings...so it was just nice to have a little set up. The ice cream was a huge hit, and a ton of it got eaten! Hooray! That was my main goal!!
We played a few different board games, we played, Whats Yours Like? Mad Gab, and the star of the night Disney Apples to Apples. And of course, just talked, laughed, and had an amazing girls night. I wish I had more pictures of the night, but I am stuck with my cell phone camera for now until mine gets fixed. Boo!
