Let me start off by saying, it is VERY hard to find places to swim in Oregon. I know that part of that has to do with the fact that I don't know the area very well, but I think the other (MUCH LARGER) portion, is the fact, that in this area of down home Independence, and surrounding areas, there really is not that many places to swim. There are rivers surely, but not any really good lakes, like there are in Washington. So anyway, it has been really tough, and taken quite a while to get used to. But one lake that I have been talked to alot while I have been down here is Foster Lake. Everyone seems to LOVE Foster Lake. I have asked around, and it is a really good swimming area, and from the sounds of it, seemed like everything that I was looking for...that Oregon is lacking. So anyway, I called up Looey, and I asked her if she wanted to come with me to the beach to lay out..because it was supposed to be in the 80s or so. This was very exciting, because it has seriously been so cold and rainy..and it is FREAKING JULY! She agreed, and I said perfect, why don't you come over for breakfast, bring your dogs, and we will make a day out of it. She came over, and I made banana pancakes with whip cream. AMAZING. Seriously...Mouth-gasm. YUM

Anyway, after that, we packed up the old Yari Yari, and took her out on this grand adventure to Foster Lake. I couldn't find an exact address for swimming areas for Foster Lake, so I figured I would program a campground into my phone, that had Foster Lake in the name, and then just watch out for the signs, (ie. Brown signs that show people swimming, you know the ones?" Well little did I know, that was going to be a HUGE mistake. UGH. This day frustrates me..just talking about it. Anyway, so we took the boys, and girls, went to dutchy, where they all got treats...and Sham proceeded to nom every other dogs biscuit off of them. No big deal. I have let my dog become the porker in class. No bigs. So on my way, on my way. We pass a BEAUTIFUL Lake, and we think to ourselves, that is prob it...but it says that this campground is an additional 40 mins away...so we think that this is prob one section of the lake...we go up the mountain, go back down themountain and the lake is on the other side as well. Um. Yeah. NO!
Some pictures of the car ride,
Momma Can I drive?
Anyways, after Loo got back in after she went pee too...we decided to turn around and go back up the mountain, go back down and back to that lake that we saw, because apparently there are NO signs that say swimming area. This way..or nothing. How hard is that!? I mean HONESTLY PEOPLE WORK WITH ME HERE!!
So anyway, finally find an address on my phone for a popular swimming area..and find the area, go into the parking lot, and apparently you have to pay for parking. FML. I don't' have any cash on me, and it is a cash only facility. He says that we can park on the road too, and not have to pay. Such Luck! So after we park our car, we take our dogs, and our stuff, and head out down to the lake. It is a gorgeous day! I am just so frustrated with the days events, and the fact, that I wasted so much gas and money scaling the mountain and back. Don't get me wrong, it was a lovely drive...but it was just a waste of money. When I don't really have extras to be spending.
Anyways, just parked out down by the lake and read my book, and Sham and I layed in the sun.
Apparently dogs are not allowed in the swimming area (UGH another one of my peeves), but I did dip her in a few times anyways, just to cool her down. We didn't stay very long because Jesses dogs were acting up. So we packed up and headed back to the car. Packed up the stuff, and made the long journey home. It was so funny on the way home, so Sully is used to sitting in the front seat...Sham is my co-pilot..or something along those lines :) Anyways, she was SUPER jealous that Murphy was sitting in the front on Jesses lap..so she decided that she was going to find room, and find room she did. It was so funny she was squeezed so tightly on the passenger seat. Love Love her.
Would you LOOK at that neck roll? :)
Then came home, and BBQed, then passed out after a long day, So finally happy to be home. Some pictures of course,
Love it
